yoga for dancers
“Miss Perri has proved to be an outstanding teacher of the yoga tradition. Her class is thorough, intelligent, and sensitive. My student body is delighted with the information and format of her classes as well as her generous, kind manner in relaying the material.”

“TaraMarie has such a love and knowledge of what she does and who she works with…I love the awareness and understanding she has for a dancers’ body.”

“TaraMarie presents an intense, challenging yoga class. She has helped us to become more sensitive to our particular alignment and anatomy. TaraMarie’s work is an invaluable supplement to our technical training.”

“TaraMarie encouraged us to become aware of what our own bodies are uniquely capable of…alignment in this class carries over to all of my classes and makes me a more efficient mover.”

“Yoga was completely new to me – TaraMarie challenged me mentally and physically. She was very positive and besides helping us with proper poses and alignment, recognized our improvement.”

dance/performing arts education
"All of the students who worked with TaraMarie responded to her work, manner and methods of teaching with great enthusiasm.  A number of students who have worked with TaraMarie have found the experience fundamental in introducing new areas of knowledge which have in turn informed and guided their future research interests.  All have expressed a strong desire to work with her again.  TaraMarie is a highly skilled, innovative and independent practitioner who brings great commitment, vision and dexterity."

"We specialise in working with scholar-artists who are making creative innovations in both their own artistic discipline and in the ways in which they engage and mentor arts students who are in the beginning of their careers.  During her preparation, delivery and feedback to the students TaraMarie demonstrated her ability as an excellent teacher and innovative practitioner.  She is a highly skilled, intelligent and articulate young woman who is making an original contribution to her field."

yoga for everyone
"TaraMarie was my first yoga instructor. She taught me the fundamental poses of yoga and introduced me to the movement, exercise, and power of yoga. I continue to practice yoga regularly and often refer back to the first classes I took with TaraMarie. It’s a nice reminder of how I was taught the poses and of the teacher that taught me them."

“TaraMarie is one of the best yoga teachers I have ever had…her attention to alignment and detail, combined with her ability to choreograph an overall theme to each class or series of classes, creates a class dynamic that is stimulating, instructive, and engaging. I have learned more about yoga and my own body in the last year with TaraMarie, than I did in the 7 years of yoga I had practiced before taking her classes. The benefits were immediately apparent on the soccer field as well. With a much stronger core, and more limber muscles, I find I have more agility and fewer injuries. The restorative poses and meditation have also helped me cope with the stress of the office and life in NYC.”

“My goal when I was considering yoga was to improve flexibility and prevent possible injuries. Running is a taxing sport and in the past 3 years invariably I would injure, albeit not seriously, my knees and/or feet. That would take me off of running some days, weeks and frustrate me. Even though, I have just started practicing yoga with TaraMarie, it has been helping me to be aware of my own body and its capacity/limitations. While flexibility was one thing I was hoping to improve, I was not aware of the strength part. This has been a pleasant surprise as any athlete, no matter what level, is always up for a challenge.
The other aspect of yoga that I had not expected was how it makes me focus so much more when running. After every yoga session I feel very relaxed and am able to find an inner peace. Now whenever I find myself in a middle of a run/race and feel that I am struggling I try to regain my focus by thinking/concentrating in the movement of my body or simply about my breathing. And this I credit to yoga classes with TaraMarie.”
